The story begins in Werner Von Croy's apartment. Werner tracks five Obscura Paintings for a client called Eckhardt and asks Lara to help him. A man breaks into the apartment and kills Werner. Lara is accused of the murder and becomes a fugitive on the run. She now has to clear her name, find the Obscura paintings and prevent the Black Alchemist from re-breeding the Nephilim Race, who is responsible for a series of grisly murders.

In her run, Lara meets Kurtis, a character that you will be able to control in the game. Kurtis is searching for the same man, but he has his own - personal - reasons.
